Cardinals Hold Top Spot After First Round Of Empire 8 Championship

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's golf team competed in the first round of the fall portion of the 2023-24 Empire 8 Gold Championship. The two-day competition is taking place at the Cazenovia Country Club.
 
After 18 holes, the Cardinals are in first place with a score of +25. Nazareth University is the second-place team and are behind by 13 strokes at +38. Fisher holds the top-3 positions in the individual standings, with Bryce Barber taking the top spot with a 75 (+4) through the first 18. Luke Buckley and Benjamin Fox are in a tie for second-place, shooting a 77 (+6) on the day. RJ Juodaitis was the fourth score to count for the Cardinals, and his 80 (+9) score had him in a tie for 8th.
 
Andrew Rohrs and Joe Depasquale are also competing for the Cardinals and are hovering around the middle of the pack. Rohrs is in a tie for 12th with a score of 81 (+10). Depasquale shot an 84 (+13) on Saturday and it has him in a tie for 27th.
 
Day two of the competition takes place on Monday, Oct. 9 with a start time of 9 a.m.  Fans can follow along on the Golf Genius app using the code AWKTRK.
