ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The St.John Fisher University women's rowing team were at home on Saturday to compete in the Head of the Geneseee.
The Women's Varsity 4 (coxswain Sam Macko, 4)

Emma Kane) came in 4th place out of 10Â with a time of 21:21.47, behind Liberty League conference members William Smith, RIT and UR and ahead of other entries from UR, William Smith, Nazareth and Binghamton.
The women's Novice 8 (coxswain Lily Gottstine 8) Deme Burns 7) Nicole Berenbaum 6) Ryann Calus 5) Anna Foe 4) Maggie Murphy 3) Molly Greenough 2) Sarah Barr 1) Sarah Brown) earned a silver medal finishing behind St. Lawrence in a time of 22:49.242
The women's Varsity 8 ( Coxswain Macko 8) Kane 7) Costello 6) Cornell 5) JoJo Gozelski 4) Fran Collana 3) Rachel Dillon 2) Pantera 1) Ally Stellino ) finished 5th ahead of Binghamton in a time of 21:11.357
"Overall, I was satisfied with our results today. The varsity 4 competed in a tough event and put together a really nice race. They'll have 2 weeks to come together before they compete at the Head of the Charles in Boston," said head coach Jon CovneyÂ
"The Novice 8 continued the team's 3 year medal streak by earning silver. They've grown a lot the past few weeks and to earn a medal in their first head race is a great accomplishment!" he added.
"I wanted to give a special shout out to our Freshmen coxswains, Sam Macko and Lily Gottstine, they did a great job navigating the course and were a big part of their crews' success," coach concluded.
