PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Junior Riley Rease scored a goal and assisted on another as the St. John Fisher University men's soccer team defeated Utica, 3-0, on Saturday at Growney Stadium.
Rease lofted the ball over-and-into the net early in the game to make the score 1-0, and later assisted a goal by fifth-year student Tim Brown in the 24th minute to make it 2-0.
Junior Adam Grover scored the third goal, his first as a Cardinal, in the 37th minute for the final 3-0 score.
Graduate student Christian Burkhart made a save in just over 80 minutes of work before being replaced by senior Mike Nesser, who made three saves in his first action of the year.
The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Houghton for a 7:00 p.m. game.
