PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Senior Kayla Rhude scored twice as the St. John Fisher University women's soccer team beat conference foe Keuka on Wednesday, 5-2.
Rhude opened the scoring in the sixth minute to make it 1-0, and then later scored a header off of a corner kick to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 12th minute. Junior Emma Spelman assisted both goals, and later scored a goal of her own.
Juniors Riley Grimm and Siobhan McMakin also scored, while sophomore Abby Fagnani and junior Grace Wolsieffer had assists. Fagnani's assist, coming on Grimm's goal, was her first collegiate point.
Sophomore goalkeeper Avery Byrnes played just over 66 minutes of scoreless soccer, making one save, before being relieved by junior Olivia Relyea.
The Cardinals return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 7, when they head to Oneonta to face Hartwick College. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
