BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team beat SUNY Brockport on Wednesday, 3-1.
Senior Sam Choate scored two goals, opening scoring just under 12 minutes into the game with assists from juniors Selena Emery and Anna Melfi. She later scored the Cardinals' third goal, again assisted by Melfi.
Junior Emma Cooper, the defending NFHCA DIII National Offensive Player of the Week, also notched a goal.
Senior Sophia Trozzi played over 56 scoreless minutes, making 17 saves, before being relieved by junior Senja Matson.
The Cardinals will return to Growney Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 7, for an Empire 8 matchup with Utica University. Game time is set for 1 P.M.
