Kirker scores hat trick as Women’s Soccer beats Houghton, 5-0

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Graduate student Jenn Kirker had a hat trick- the first for the Cardinals this season- as the St. John Fisher University women's soccer team notched a Senior Night victory against Houghton on Saturday, 5-0.

Kirker scored in the 15th, 30th, and 50th minute of the game to bring her season total to six. Junior Riley Grimm had the Cardinals' other two goals and also assisted a Kirker score. Junior Emma Spelman had three assists, while senior Tori Cruz also had an assist.

The win keeps the Cardinals undefeated in the Empire 8 at 4-0-3, in a tie for first with Nazareth at 15 points. The Cardinals haven't lost a game since their 2-0 defeat to the University of Rochester on Sept. 21.

Sophomore Avery Byrnes started in goal and played just under 69 minutes, making two saves. She was relieved by freshman Sofia Pantoja, who made a save in her collegiate debut.

The Cardinals will conclude their regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Utica University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 P.M.
