TROY, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's soccer team defeated Empire 8 rival Sage College on Saturday thanks to a penalty kick goal by fifth-year student Tim Brown.
The penalty shot in the 35th minute was Brown's fourth score of the season, and was the only shot on goal all game for the Cardinals.
Graduate student Christian Burkhart kept the Gators off the scoreboard while making two saves for his first complete game clean sheet of the season.
Fisher will complete their regular season on Wednesday against arch-rival Nazareth. The Golden Flyers are currently first in the Empire 8 with 16 points- one ahead of Fisher and Elmira. Kickoff at Growney Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 P.M.
