Field Hockey blanks Elmira, 8-0

ELMIRA, N.Y. – Junior Taylor Scrocca had two goals and an assist as the St. John Fisher University field hockey team shut out Elmira on Wednesday, 8-0. The win means the Cardinals remain undefeated in conference play. 

 

Freshman Mary Kate McPhee and senior Sam Choate added two goals each, while sophomore Haley Acevedo and senior Maeve Robillard had a goal apiece. 

 

The Cardinals jumped ahead on McPhee's first goal just a minute and a half into the game and never looked back, ultimately scoring four in the first quarter, one in the second, and three in the third. 

 

Junior Audrey Grieb had two assists in the win, while juniors Emma Cooper, Selena Emery, and Anna Melfi also notched assists. 

 

Senior Sophia Trozzi and junior Senja Matson split time in goal,with Matson making a save on Elmira's lone shot-on-goal for the game. 

 

The Cardinals have their Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 4:00 P.M. against Hartwick.
