CORTLAND, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team lost their final non-conference game of the year on Sunday, 8-0, at No. 15 Cortland.
Cortland took an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute and never looked back. Senior Sophia Trozzi and junior Senja Matson split time in goal for Fisher, making 11 saves each against the nationally-ranked Red Dragons.
Freshman Mary Kate McPhee had the lone Fisher shot on goal for the day, while junior Emma Cooper, senior Sam Choate, and junior Audrey Grieb also recorded shots.
The Cardinals return to their Empire 8 schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 18, when they travel to face Elmira College. The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 P.M.
