Men’s Soccer Has Scoreless Senior Day Draw with Hartwick

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University drew, 0-0, with Empire 8 foe Hartwick on Saturday in the annual Senior Day game at Growney Stadium.

Although the Cardinals outshot the Hawks, 13-4, neither side was able to find the back of the net on the day. Fisher senior Jadon Schlierf had a save in goal as he recorded his fourth shutout of the season, while his opposite number for Hartwick, Dante Gesamondo, had six saves.

Offensively, senior Joey Avallone and junior Riley Rease were the most aggressive, with three shots each. Senior Jackson Bishop had two shots.

The draw extended the Cardinals' undefeated streak to six and kept them undefeated in Empire 8 play. Their 3-0-3 conference record places them third in the conference standings: the top six teams will qualify for the conference tournament, with the top two seeds getting byes and the third and fourth seeds hosting opening round games.

The Cardinals play their final road game of the regular season next Saturday, Oct. 21, at Sage College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 P.M.
