Field Hockey Drops Game to U of R, 3-1

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team dropped a home match-up with the University of Rochester on Wednesday, 3-1.

Freshman Mary Kate McPhee opened scoring with her fourth goal of the season, assisted by senior Sam Choate in the 22nd minute. However, the Yellowjackets had three unanswered scores to take the lead and the win.

Defensively, senior Sophia Trozzi had six saves, while juniors Selena Emery and Sarah Woods had defensive saves.

The defeat was the Cardinals first in nearly a month, as they had not lost since Sept. 17, against RPI.

The Cardinals continue their brief stretch of non-conference play on Sunday at SUNY Cortland. Gametime is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
