PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University field hockey team set a team record for goals in a game on Saturday with a 12-0 win over the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks.
After taking a 4-0 lead into halftime, the Cardinals exploded in the third quarter with eight goals.
The victory's 12 goals surpassed the previous record of 11, set on March 25, 2021 against Utica and later tied on Sept. 30, 2022 against Medaille.
Junior Audrey Grieb had three goals on the day. Junior Emma Cooper had the second-most assists for a single game all-time for the Cardinals, with five. Cooper also had a goal.
Senior Sam Choate and junior Anna Melfi had a goal each, while sophomores Haley Acevedo and Lily Humphrey both added a goal and an assist.
In goal, senior Sophia Trozzi made two saves in the shutout, her first clean sheet of the season.
The Cardinals return to the field on Wednesday, when they travel to SUNY Brockport for a 7:00 P.M. game with the Golden Eagles.
