Women’s Soccer Take On Bombers At Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's soccer team traveled to Ithaca College on Tuesday for a non-conference battle against the Bombers. The Cardinals fell behind early and were unable to mount a comeback and fell by a final of 5-0. It is their first defeat and they now sit at 2-1-3, while Ithaca shift to 4-1-2.

Kayla Rhude had the teams first shot on goal and it came towards the end of the first half. She took a chance with a shot towards the bottom left of the goal, but it was saved by the Bombers goalie to keep the Cardinals offense at bay. Christina Van Allen saw an opportunity to get the team on the scoreboard in the 58th minute, but the goalie made another save to once again stop the Fisher offense. The finals shot for the team came off the foot of Emma Spelman, she took her chance towards the bottom right of the goal, but yet again the opposition goal keeper mad the save.

Up next for the Cardinals is a home game on Saturday, Sept. 24 when Hartwick College comes to town for the teams first Empire 8 conference game. The match will kick off at 12 p.m. at Growney Stadium.
