Men’s Soccer Cap Weekend With Victory

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's soccer team hosted Keuka College on Saturday as they opened up their conference campaign. They were impressive from beginning to end and walked away with a 3-0 victory. They are now 2-2-1 on the season, while the Wolves fall to 1-4.

The Cardinals got right to work in the first half, with Reese Powers and Justin Bonetto registering shots in the opening five minutes of action. The constant attack was effective and in the 27th minute, Matt Gentile scored his first goal of the season thanks to a Nick Rippe assist. Coming out of halftime, Fisher wasted little time to secure their second goal. In the 47th minute, Brennan Brown knocked in a goal off of an assist by Ben Wollingham. In the 60th minute the Cardinals added their third goal of the evening thanks to Jackson Bishop. Bishop total four shots on the day, two of which were on goal. Jadon Schlierf secured the win in goal and tallied just one save.

The men's team get back on the road for their next game. They will head to Clarkson University on Tuesday, Sept. 20 for a 4 p.m. non-conference battle.
