ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's track and field team concluded the 2022 outdoor regular season by traveling crosstown for the University of Rochester's Alumni Invitational on Saturday.

In the team standings, the Cardinals were seventh out of 15 teams and were the highest-ranking Empire 8 Conference school in attendance with 45 points.

Several field athletes earned top-10 finishes, including Jordan Lehman. Lehman, a graduate student from Port Leyden, New York, was the runner-up in the hammer with a personal record of 48.13 meters. Lehman also placed 10th in the discus (33.65m).

Makenna King was fourth in the shot put (11.72m) with an All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifier and eighth in the discus (35.91m).

Second-year multi student-athlete Claudia Vogel achieved a PR in the javelin. Vogel added 2.74 meters to her javelin from the Geneseo It's Nice Out Invitational on April 11, as she cleared 27.89 meters for seventh place.

Veronica Duell and Michaela Kurbs were fourth and seventh, respectively, in the long jump. Duell finished just eight hundredths of a meter shy of the winner from SUNY Geneseo with a distance of 5.20 meters. Kurbs reached 4.95 meters.

Senior pole vaulter Alondra Arroyo also had an AARTFC qualifying performance with a PR in the pole vault. She added one-hundredth of a meter to her height from Fisher's home meet, the Cardinal Classic, reaching 3.21 meters, good enough for seventh place.

The trio of Breanna Lambert, Emma Wright, and Brenda Le all placed inside the top 10 in the 400-meter dash. Lambert (1:02.60) took seventh place, one spot ahead of Wright (1:02.84) and three places ahead of Le (1:03.34).

Laura Witt and Riley Corey led the Cardinals in the mid-distance and distance races. Witt was 10th in the 1,500-meter race with a personal-record time of 5:01.96. Corey came in fourth in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 19:02.37.

Senior Megan McAllister participated in both hurdle races. She PR'd in the 100-meter hurdles (17.22) and was Fisher's top finisher in the 400-meter hurdles by placing sixth (1:09.24).

The Cardinals kick off their championship season with the Empire 8 Conference Championships next week. Nazareth College will host the E8 Championships on Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7.
