PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team was in action on Thursday afternoon as the Cardinals fell to Roanoke College, 8-1, in the third of four matches as part of the team's annual spring trip to Hilton Head, S.C. With te loss, Fisher fell to 6-7 on the year.
The team's lone point came at first singles as
Kathryn Strait defeated her opponent, 6-2, 6-3, at first singles.
Natalie Eisenson forced a third set before ultimately falling, 1-6, 6-3, 4-10, while
Mikayla Santulli narrowly lost at second singles, 7-6, 2-6, 7-10.
In doubles play, Fisher's
Elizabeth Schneider and
Riley Ellis forced a tiebreaker at third doubles before falling 7-8.
The Cardinals will wrap up the 2021-22 season at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning when they take on Catholic University.
