HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Fresh of another appearance in th Empire 8 Championship, the St. John Fisher College women's tennis team was back in action on Monday as the Cardinals defeated Buena Vista University, 8-0, to begin their annual spring trip. With the win, Fisher improved to 6-5 on the year while Buena Vista fell to 2-14.
After sweeping all three doubles flights, Fisher continued its dominance in singles competition with
Kathryn Strait coming out ahead at first singles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.
Mikayla Santulli posted a win at second singles, 6-2, 6-1, while
Madison Galvin won at third singles behind a 6-3, 6-2 performance.
Riley Ellis claimed a 6-0, 6-4, 10-4 win at fifth singles and
Natalie Eisenson was a winner at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-1.
The Cardinals are back in action at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday when they take on Messiah University.
