PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's tennis team made its debut inside Mendon Racquet and Pool Club as the Cardinals fell to visiting Oneonta State, 6-3. In a regional matchup. With the defeat, Fisher fell to 1-5 on the year while the Red Dragons improved to 1-3.
After falling in each of the first four singles frames, Fisher earned a point at fifth singles when
Jake Anthony pulled out a 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 decision.
Jordan O'Connell followed suit at sixth singles and fought off a first set loss to nab a 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 win.
In doubles play, the Cardinals claimed their third point in the second flight as
Sean Danahy and Anthony paired up for an 8-4 victory.
Fisher will be back in action at 1 p.m. next Saturday when they host Oswego State in another non-conference competition.
