Women's Soccer Host RIT In Non-Conference Match

PITTSFORD, NY – The St. John Fisher University women's soccer team were at home Tuesday night, amd fell to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) 4-0. With the loss, Fisher sits at 4-2-3 on the season, while RIT improves to 6-2-2.
 
In the 19th minute, Kate Rachwal made the first shot on goal for the Cardinals, unfortunately it was saved to keep the game scoreless. RIT scored to get on the board in the 26th minute and did not look back. Kayla Rhude has the team's second shot of the night towards the end of the first half, but it raveled high over the crossbar.
 
The offense for the Cardinals continued to stall in the second half as well, only managing three shots. The first came off the foot of Emma Osterhoudt which was saved by the RIT goalie. Ryan Dauksza had the next attempt on goal in the 68th minute.
 
Fisher ended the night with five shots with three on goal. Avery Byrnes was in goal for the 90 minutes and collected five saves.
 
Next up, Fisher will head to Russell Sage for an Empire 8 matchup on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 12 p.m. The contest marks a match between the first place Gators and the second place Cardinals.
