PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The United Volleyball Conference has released its end of year awards and All-Conference teams for the 2020 season. Josh Bigford and Paul Hackford of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College men's volleyball team were honored with Bigford selected as Co-Player of the Year as well to the All-UVC First Team while Hackford reeled in Second Team honors.

Bigford was All-Conference First Team for the second-straight season as the sophomore was a relenting offensive force for the No. 9 Cardinals. The sophomore ranked second in the league with four kills per set and ranked in the top 10 of the conference for hitting percentage (.325). The Cicero native had double-digit kills in all but one match he played in this season and set new career-high with 27 kills at No. 5 Vassar on February 21.

The 2019 UVC Rookie of the Year helped Fisher reach new heights this season as they earned their first national ranking and rose to as high as No. 7 in the poll. Bigford came through in wins over nationally-ranked teams with 25 kills in a five-set victory over then-No. 1 New York University on February 29 and then 16 kills and 13 digs against then-No. 9 Endicott College as the Cardinals topped the Gulls on March 7. The outside hitter was the only non-senior on the All-Conference First Team and is Fisher's first-ever Conference Player of Year in the program's three-year history.

Hackford nets his first UVC All-Conference honor after having the third-most assists in the conference (589) and the eighth-most digs (112). The setter averaged at least 10 assists per set in nine matches this year and had a season-high 55 in the win over top-ranked NYU in which he was later named UVC Player of the Week for the performance. The junior set new career-highs for digs and aces in a single match with 22 digs and four aces in a five-set triumph versus Geneva on February 8.

Fisher finished the shorten season with 15-4 overall record and 3-1 in UVC play. After dropping their season opener to nationally-ranked Wells College, the Cardinals went on a 11-match winning streak. Fisher closed out the season with a straight-sets victory against Elmira College on March 11.
