OSWEGO, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's tennis team sealed the victory over the Lakers of Oswego State, 6-3 to win its third straight game. The Cardinals have won its first three matches of the year for the third season in a row. With the loss the Lakers dropped to 1-4 on the year.
Sophomore
Kaili Saffran and
Cassidy Bell came away with the only doubles win on the day after defeating their opponents with a final score of 8-6.
The Cardinals came back firing after two doubles losses to win five of six singles matches.
Saffran took the first singles win in straight sets with scores of 6-1, and 6-0 before Bell would also win in straight sets after taking down her Laker opponent in second singles, 6-3 and 6-4.
Senior
Caroline Seaberg went three sets with her opponent eventually picking up the third singles win with scores 6-1, 1-6, and 7-5.
Mikayla Santulli took the win in fourth singles with scores of 7-6, and 6-3 before
Zuzanna Pociecha wrapped up the day for the Cardinals with the sixth singles win in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-3.
The Cardinals step back onto the court at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18th against Houghton College as the team jumps back into Empire 8 Conference play.
