ROCHESTER, N.Y. – St. John Fisher College Associate Director of Athletics
Jill McCabe was honored over the weekend after being inducted to the Frontier Field Walk of Fame on Sunday.
McCabe, who was inducted as a contributor/administrator, played a key role in helping to grow the game of soccer in the Rochester area as she was a founding owner of the Rochester Ravens in 1996. The Ravens were part of the Inter-Regional Soccer League.
Sunday's induction marked the fourth time in her career that McCabe has been enshrined in a hall of fame. Currently, she is a member of the Smithtown High School, the United Soccer League and the University of Rochester Hall of Fames. While at the U of R, McCabe was a two-time All-American and helped lead the Yellowjackets to back-to-back national championships.
Now in her 18th year at the helm of the women's soccer program, McCabe is the team's all-time leader in coaching victories and has led the Cardinals to the postseason six times in that span.
Women's soccer will embark on its season beginning Saturday, September 1st when it travels to Haverford, Pa. to face Montclair State University in the Haverford Kickoff Classic.
