OSWEGO, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College women's volleyball team won its third consecutive match tonight versus Bard College in straight sets to start off their first of three matches this weekend at the Oswego State Invitational. The Cardinals defeated the Raptors 25-19, 25-13, 25-16. With the win Fisher improves to 8-3 on the year, while Bard falls to 3-6.
Senior
Anna Marcy led the Cardinals finishing with 10 kills and also adding 12 digs and three aces from the service line. Junior setter
Phoebe Kane finished with her season high in assists finishing with 24 for the match.
Freshman outside hitter
Alex Buhrle had a very impressive five kills on seven attempts for a new career high. Middle hitter
Amanda Miller pitched in five kills as well.
Defensively for the Cardinals,
Elise Kreuz finished with a game high 17 digs, while
Katie Mazierski added 12.
As a team, Fisher finished with a solid 14 kills in the second set to help take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
Fisher will be back in action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as it takes on SUNY Canton and then again at 3 p.m. versus Hilbert College to round up its action at the Oswego State Invitational.
