HOBOKEN, N.J. – The St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team fell, 15-9, to the Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon on the road. With the loss, Fisher moves to 3-2 on the season and 0-1 in the Empire 8. Stevens improves to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Cardinals started out hot, scoring four of the contest's six goals, including three from
Jordan Johnson. The run lost some steam though as through the final 15 minutes of the first half Fisher could only put up one goal compared to the Ducks' eight.
In the second, Fisher struggled to string goals together as the team recorded four throughout the entire 30 minutes.
Johnson finished the day with three points on three goals while teammate
Claire Bollin also registered three points (1G, 2A).
Kelsie Schindler pitched in offensively as well, nabbing two goals for the Cardinals.
Women's lacrosse will return to action at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday as the team heads to nearby Brockport for a contest against the Golden Eagles.
