Both the men's and women's St. John Fisher College basketball teams are set to kick off their conference schedules this weekend. The teams will play back-to-back on Friday and Saturday with the women competing first.

Friday's match up has the Cardinals traveling westward to Houghton College to take on the Highlanders. The women's squad, which will handle its business at 6 p.m., defeated Houghton in both of its meetings last season. The men's side won both of its meetings against the Highlanders as well, including a 101-86 performance.

On the following day, the teams will head down to Alfred University, a rival in which both sides swept last season. The women will tip off at 2 p.m. with the men following at 4 p.m.

Most recently, both teams went 1-1 in their winter break tournaments. The women were at the Gettysburg Tournament where they defeated Swarthmore before falling to the host Bullets. The men hosted the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament before the New Year, taking down Colby Sawyer before losing on a buzzer beater to Penn State-Behrend.
