A penalty kick decided the St. John Fisher College men's soccer team's fate on Sunday afternoon as the Cardinals fell 1-0 to Kean University on the road. With the loss, the Cardinals are now 0-2 on the year while Kean improves to 1-1.
All was even until the 19:35 mark when Fisher was called for a foul inside of its own box. Kean's Sev Kherlopian stepped up and converted the penalty kick to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead that would hold until the final whistle.
Fisher saw a few chances during the match including three shots from
Jeff Meyers, but were unable to put anything past the opposing keeper.
Joe Catalfamo started between the pipes for the Cardinals, turning aside a total of eight Kean shots.
Fisher will return to action at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday as it heads to Geneva to take on the Statesmen of Hobart College.
