The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season, as the Cardinals rallied for a 2-1 win over host Kean University on Saturday.
With the game tied at 1s after the opening half, Fisher would score the game-winning goal in the 79th minute, as sophomore
Nicolle Pierce scored her first career goal off a pass from freshman
Emily Murray.
It would be all the offense the Cardinals would need as
Gabriella Cotugno was solid between the pipes, making six of her 11 saves in the final half.
Fisher took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute before Kean tied the game nearly 20 minutes later.
Senior
Taryn Guinta scored her second goal in as many days with junior
Jackie Romano assisting on the goal.
Fisher returns to action at 7 p.m. on Thursday and will host College at Brockport as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament.
