The St. John Fisher College volleyball team finished up its time in California with two narrow losses. The Cardinals fell 3-2 (18-25, 25-18, 28-30, 25-17, 15-10) to Pomona-Pitzer in the first match of the day before dropping a game to Whittier College 3-1 (16-25, 25-12, 26-24, 25-18).

In a match that went the distance, it was
Anna Marcy who led the Cardinals in kills with 18. Also securing double-digits was
Katie Mazierski, who notched 12.
In the back row, Mazierski and Marcy combined for 36 digs while
Phoebe Kane was able to record 14. Pitching in defensively at the net was
Amanda Miller, who blocked three Sagehen attacks.
At the setter position, freshman Kane assisted on 38 points.

After setting a career-high in kills on Friday, Marcy was able to duplicate that against the Poets with another 20-kill performance. Mazierski also made it to double figures with her 10.
On the back line, senior
Jessica Simonetti upped 17 balls to lead all Cardinals.
Kane continued to be the primary helper, earning 33 assists in the match.
Fisher volleyball returns to New York for its next matchup as it hosts Medaille College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
