The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team fell 2-0 to the Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon at the Polisseni Complex. With the loss, Fisher moves to 1-7-1 on the year and 0-2 in conference play. Stevens improves to 3-3-1 overall (1-1 Empire 8).
Fisher found its lone scoring chance midway through the first half from
Tyler Randall.
Thomas Goetze took a corner kick that soared into the box and was headed towards goal by Randall. The keeper was able to get his mitts on it though, denying the opportunity.
Joe Catalfamo got the start in goal for the Cardinals, turning aside four Duck shots. The sophomore also made a diving save on a Stevens' penalty shot in the second half.
Fisher will return to action at 12 p.m. on Saturday as it travels to nearby rival Nazareth to take on the Golden Flyers.
