The St. John Fisher College field hockey program scored three goals in the first 12 minutes of the second half, as the vistiing Cardinals collected a 4-0 win over East-Avenue rival Nazareth College on Tuesday night.
With the win, Fisher improves to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the Empire 8 Conference.
Emily Markarian gave the Cardinals the lead for good with her second goal of the year off a pass from
Lauren Fazio to put Fisher up 1-0 at the break.
The Cardinals came out with a vengence to start the second half.Â
Fazio scored on a penalty stroke less than 100 seconds into the final period.Â
Fisher sealed the win 10 minutes later, scoring two goals in a 30-second span.
Fazio scored her second goal of the day in the 47th minute off a pass from freshman
Lindsay Scott.  Scott then picked up her second assist, feeding Markarian for her second goal of the game in the 48th minute.
Sophomore
Ashley Maynard made three saves to notch her second career shutout and second in as many games.
Fisher returns to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will host Elmira College.
