The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College football program travels to SUNY Cortland on Saturday for the Empire 8 Conference season opener for both teams.   Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Cardinals, ranked No. 21 in the latest D3football.com poll, are off to a 2-0 start for the 12th time in the last 15 years, while the Red Dragons, ranked No. 15 in the national poll, also own a 2-0 record.

Cortland, who joined the Empire 8 as a football-affiliate member last year, and Fisher, both finished with a 6-2 record in conference play last year and were crowned Empire 8 championships, but the Red Dragons earned the automatic bid to NCAAs via their 34-17 win at Fisher in Week 3.
