The St. John Fisher College volleyball team split its two matches on Saturday in the final day of the University of Rochester Invitational. The squad narrowly fell to Hamilton College 3-2 (19-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-8) before finishing with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-13) sweep over SUNY Poly. After today's results, Fisher's record now sits at 3-5 on the season.

The Cardinals got off to a quick start, pulling off convincing wins in the first two sets. In the first,
Phoebe Kane served the first nine points, with
Anna Marcy recording five kills. Fisher had a late run to help it win set number two, going on a five-point tear win it was 13-17.
Both Marcy and
Katie Mazierski put up double-digit kills, registering 16 and 10, respectively. Also helping the offense were seven service aces from Kane.
Defensively,
Jessica Simonetti controlled the back line, digging a team-high 23 balls. Mazierski (18) and
Candice Greer (13) tallied double-digit digs as well. At the net,
Olivia Levulis had four block assists and one solo to lead the Cardinals.
Setting the ball for Fisher was Kane, whose 44 assists set a new season high.

In its final game of the tournament, Fisher easily handled the Wildcats. The Cardinals had 11 more kills than SUNY Poly (32-21), including nine from both Marcy and Mazierski.
Kane once again had a solid outing at the service line, producing six aces and increasing her year total to 30. The freshman added a team-leading 25 assists as well.
Fisher returns to the court at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday as it travels to Oswego State to take on the Lakers.
