The nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team improved to 10-1 on the season, as the Cardinals captured an 8-6 win against host Fredonia on Thursday evening.
The No. 19 ranked Cardinals found themselves down one goal 10 minutes into the game as the Blue Devils netted the first goal of the contest. Fisher would answer scoring the next three goals from
Jamie Wallace,
Cori Holbrook, and
Sierra Badger.
Wallace would score one more before the break, putting the Cardinals up 4-2 at the half.
Fredonia captured the first goal of the second half, but Fisher would again answer with three more goals, two from Holbrook and one from junior
Jordan Johnson assisted by Badger.
With just 11 minutes left in the second half Fredonia kept the game within two, but Holbrook struck again as the Cardinals pulled away by three goals with just eight minutes to spare.
The Blue Devils would tack on one more goal before time ran out, but left Fisher up by two to win the game.
Holbrook led the team with four goals, while Badger tallied the only assist for the Cardinals.

Fisher is back in action at 12 p.m. on Saturday when it travels to Glassboro, NJ to take on Rowan University.
