The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team scored a 22 goals and cruised to 22-2 win over visiting Houghton College on Tuesday at Fisher's Growney Stadium.
With the win, Fisher improves to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the Empire 8 Conference, while the Highlanders fall to 2-7, 0-3.
Thirteen different players scored for the Cardinals, who jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one quarter and led 13-1 at the half.
Andrew Rosso led Fisher with five points on one goal and four assists.Â
Nick Papayanakos also tallied five points on three goals and two assists. Â
Alex Hunt and
Gary Bova also scored three goals, while Hunt chipped in with an assist, to finish with a career-high four points.
TJ VanDeusen and
Dante Giordano each finished with three points on two goals and one assist.Â
Christopher Buschi (two goals) and
Jarett Duchesneau (two assists) totaled two points, as did
Matthew Condon,
Nick Costello,
Riley O'Brien and
Devin Trifeletti (one goal, one assist).
Chase LaCava and
Glenn Roschetzky each scored one goal, while
Ricky Barton and
Zach Wagner each chalked up one assist. Barton also led Fisher with six ground balls.
Benjamin Stallman won 12-of-14 faceoffs, while
Alex Goodermote won 7-of-10 draws.
Senior goalie
Zach Knight made the start in goal and was credited with the win.Â
Justin Townsend and
Kyle Halladay combined to make five shots over the final 30 minutes.
Fisher will return to action in eight days. The Cardinals will host Ithaca College at 4 p.m. next Wednesday.
