Sierra Badger of the nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team scored four goals on Sunday in her team's 15-2 win over host Hartwick College, bringing her four-year career total to exactly 100. She becomes just the 12
th player in Fisher's 17-year history to reach the historic milestone.
With the win, Fisher currently ranked No. 15 in the latest national coaches poll, improve to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the Empire 8 Conference. It is the best start to a season in Fisher history.
Fisher opened the game with a 5-0 run over the game's first 15 minutes to take control. After Hartwick scored two of the game's next three goals to make it 6-2, Fisher held the Hawks scoreless for the remainder of the contest.
Fisher led 8-2 at the half and outscored Hartwick 7-0 over the final 30 minutes.
In additional to her four goals, Badger also recorded one assist and a team-high four ground balls. She also forced three turnovers, as did teammate
Kelsie Schindler, who also scored a goal.
Junior
Jordan Johnson finished with three goals and one assist, while
Jamie Wallace added one goal and two assists.
Cori Holbrook and
Chrissy Cook each finished with two goals and one assist. Holbrook and teammate
Abbie Reed each won three draws.
Morgan Young and
Carly Sullivan also scored in the win.
Goalies
Hayley Peets and
Jenn Crater combined to make two saves in net.
Fisher returns to action at 5 p.m. on Thursday at SUNY Fredonia.
