The St. John Fisher College softball team went 1-1 with Ithaca College on Sunday afternoon at home. The Cardinals improve to 30-6 on the season, and 10-2 in the Empire 8 Conference.
Fisher 1, Ithaca 0
Game one went scoreless through five innings until the Cardinals managed to put a run of the board in the bottom of the sixth.
Ashley Prince reached base on an error, and was later driven home by
Jennifer Knaak on a single to deep left field.
Knaak hit both of Fishers two hits, going 2-for-3 overall.
Pitcher
Lindsey Thayer is credited with the win, striking out 17 batters, limiting the Bombers to just one hit in seven innings.
Ithaca 7, Fisher 0
Fisher struggled getting the jump on game two but Ithaca came out swinging as the Bombers drove six of their runs in on four separate homeruns, two of which had two RBI.
The only other RBI hit from Ithaca came on a double in the fourth inning.
Fisher had two hits in the contest with a
Katie Mazierski double, and single from
Lauren Owens.
The Cardinals will head to Buffalo on Friday at 3 p.m. to take on Medaille College in a non-conference doubleheader.
