Men’s Lacrosse Suffers Home Loss to Stevens

The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team fell 24-1 to Stevens Institute of Technology in a home Empire 8 Conference contest on Saturday.
 
The Cardinals are now 5-7 overall and 2-3 in the Empire 8 following the loss while Stevens improves to 11-3 overall and 4-1 in conference action this season.
 
After four minutes of scoreless action to start, Stevens struck first in the fifth minute to take an early 1-0 lead. The Ducks then added four more goals over the next two minutes to extend their lead to 5-0 with 8:49 left in the first quarter.
 
With just under seven minutes remaining in the quarter, Fisher scored its first and only goal of the contest as Matthew Condon found the back of the net on a man-up situation to make it 5-1 in favor of Stevens.
 
The Ducks would take control from there, taking an 11-1 lead into halftime before scoring 13 more goals in the second half to solidify the win.
 
Tanner Swan started in goal for the Cardinals and made eight saves in the contest. Swan is now 4-7 as a starter this season.
 
Fisher will return to action at 4 p.m. on Tuesday as they head to Elmira College for a road Empire 8 matchup.
