The St. John Fisher College women's basketball program dropped an 82-80 decision in overtime to visiting Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday in the final game of the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 2-5, while the Tigers improve to 6-0.

Fisher never trailed the entire first half. The Cardinals led 13-9 after the first quarter, as the Fisher defense forced the Tigers to commit seven turnovers and shoot 11% from the floor in the first 10 minutes.

The Tigers pulled to within two points at 25-23 with 3:39 remaining in the half, but Fisher went on a 9-2 run late in the period to take its largest lead of the game at 34-25 on
Emily Piacentini's driving layup with 15 seconds left in the half.

The Tigers made two free throws with three seconds left in the half to make it 34-27. The free throws marked the start of a 9-0 run that saw R.I.T. tie the game up at 34s two minutes into the third quarter.

The next 22 minutes would be a battle. R.I.T. took its first lead of the game on a 3-pointer with 6:58 left in the third quarter.  The game would feature seven lead-changes and six ties for the remainder of the contest.

Fisher trailed 50-49 going into the fourth and regained the lead on a runner from
Caroline Robertson on its first possession.

With the game tied at 53s with 7:30 left in regulation, the Cardinals went on an 8-1 run to take a seven-point lead with 5:30 left following a three-point-play from
Nicole Robinson.

The Cardinals led by six at 71-65 with 50 seconds left in regulation, but R.I.T. forced overtime with 3-pointers on back-to-back possession, the last one coming with 2.9 seconds left from the top of the key.

Fisher trailed for most of overtime, but took the lead at 80-79 with 1:05 remaining on a 3-pointer off the glass from
Erin Hulbert. Fisher had two shots in the final 15 seconds to take the lead, but couldn't convert.
For Fisher, Piacentini finished with a career-high 21 points, four assists and three steals before fouling out. She was named to the All-Tournament Team as well.

Robinson recorded her second career double-double, finishing with a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Robertson finished with 12 points and six rebounds, while
Jessica Rhone added seven boards and four points. Â
Maria Kelleher and Hulbert each scored 10 points and combined for nine rebounds and five assists.

Fisher returns to action in January at the Gettysburg Invitational.
