Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Four Score In Men's Soccer Victory

The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team defeated Alfred State 4-1 on the road Wednesday evening. With the win, Fisher moves to 3-7-1 on the year and have now won both of its last two games. Alfred State drops to 4-6-0.

Fisher got off to an extremely quick start, notching the first goal of the match just 3:30 into the contest. Matthew Kaiser was able to find Bryan Rollins, who nabbed his third of the year. Kaiser then doubled up the score for the Cardinals as he capitalized on a long run, muscling his way pass a defender to score.

After Alfred State drew within one on a penalty kick, Fisher's Matt Soos was able to score his first goal of his collegiate career with just 1:18 left in the half, allowing the Cardinals to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room.

Tyler Randall recorded an insurance goal 6:11 into the second half and the Fisher defense was able to finish out the game and secure the victory.

Joe Catalfamo got the win for the Cardinals, stopping four shots on the night. He was relieved by Szymon Labecki with just over 25 minutes left in regulation and the junior was able to preserve the lead with two saves.

Fisher will return to action at 1 p.m. on Saturday as the team will travel right across the street from Alfred State to take on conference-foe Alfred University.
