The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team defeated the Soaring Eagles of Elmira College in a 1-0 decision on Saturday afternoon's Empire 8 matchup.
With the win, Fisher improves to 4-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Empire 8. Elmira falls to 4-8-1 on the season while holding a conference record of 1-4-0.
The match was scoreless through the first 45 minutes, but just after the break Fisher got its offense moving. Junior
Jake Gentile took advantage of a breakaway beating a defender then the goalkeeper to put the ball in position to score just before
Matthew Kaiser connected with the ball, sending it to the back of the net.

The Cardinals are back in action next Saturday when they travel to take on the Pioneers of Utica College for an Empire 8 matchup.
