The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team lost to the visiting Fredonia Blue Devils on Tuesday.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 4-5-1 on the season and Fredonia advances to 2-8.
Fredonia was first to get on the board in the 23
rd minute, just barely slipping by goalkeeper
Sarah O'Brien.
With a little over two minutes left in the half,
Nicolette Nigro took a cross feed pass from
Carly Finn and beat the goalkeeper tying the game at 1-1.
Fredonia started out the second half strong with the first goal of the half just 18 seconds into the period on a lofted ball 30 yards out.
Fredonia would score again in the 34
th minute to seal the win.
Fisher outshot Fredonia 16-12 in the match, but could not capitalize on the opportunities.
Nigro, who currently leads the team in goals, tallied her fourth of the season against the Blue Devils, while
Carly Finn, the current leader in assists, tallied her fourth assist for 2015.
Sarah O'Brien made six saves for the Cardinals.
Fisher women's soccer returns to action when it travels to Oneonta to take on Hartwick College at 2 p.m. Saturday.
