The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team took down the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford 3-1 on Sunday in Bradford, Pa.

With the win, Fisher head coach Jill McCabe picked up her 99^th career victory as the Cardinals improved to 3-3-1 on the season. The Panthers are now 2-5 on the year following the loss.

Behind an aggressive first half, Fisher was able to build a 2-1 lead going into intermission. Carly Finn scored first for the Cardinals in the 23^rd minute as she finished a shot far post on an assist from Taryn Guinta. Then in the 29^th minute, Finn struck again, this time on a pass from Nicolette Nigro to give Fisher a 2-0 lead.

The Panthers cut into the lead when they tallied a goal in the 43^rd minute, making it a 2-1 game in favor of the Cardinals going into halftime.

Fisher responded in the second half with a goal of their own in the 66^th minute. That was when Guinta crossed a ball to Nigro, who then put a shot past the keeper in the lower right side of the net. The score put the Cardinals up 3-1, a lead that would hold for good.

Fisher was led by Finn's two goals and Nigro's one goal and one assist. The two juniors are tied for the team lead in goals for the season with two each.

Guinta's two assists in the game now puts her at a team-leading three on the season.

Sarah O'Brien started in net for Fisher and made two saves in 90 minutes of action. The freshman is now 1-1 on the season.

Fisher will try to give coach McCabe win number 100 at 4 p.m. on Wednesday when the Cardinals travel to take on host Elmira College in an Empire 8 Conference season opener.
