A fourth straight Empire 8 Championship is on the line for the St. John Fisher College women's lacrosse team.
The Cardinals earned their three previous Championship titles defeating top-seeded Ithaca as the No. 2 seed. This year, Fisher is once again No. 2 and takes on third-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals. The winner advances to the title game against No. 1 and tournament host Nazareth College or fourth-seeded Ithaca College set for 12 p.m. Sunday.
Fisher vs. StevensFisher owns a 2-1 mark against Stevens in tournament play. Overall, the Cardinals are 10-4 in the tournament. Stevens has two Empire 8 Championships when the Ducks won back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.
Earlier this year in the regular season, Fisher came away with an 11-7 win over host Stevens. The Cardinals enjoyed a 6-4 lead early in the second half, but the Ducks scored the next two goals, tying the game at 6s with 18:32 left. Fisher, however, regained the lead just 27 seconds later and went on a 4-0 run over the next 10 minutes to pull away.

Lindsey Shoales scored two goals and tallied a team-high six draw controls.
Jordan Johnson registered one assist and a team-high six ground balls. Freshman goalie
Molly Maguire had her first start in goal and made seven saves over the 60 minutes.
