The post-season begins today for the St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team, as the fourth-seeded Cardinals travel to host top-seeded Nazareth College in a semifinal game of the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. Game time is 4 p.m. at Golden Flyer Stadium.

If today's game features a sense of deja vu it is because the two teams just met four days ago at Fisher in the final regular-season game that Nazareth won 16-6.

It also is the second straight Fisher and Nazareth will play in the Empire 8 semifinals.  Last year, Fisher defeated visiting Nazareth for the second time in a four-day span rallying in the second half for an 11-10 win.

Fisher comes in with a 10-6 overall record, while Nazareth is 13-4. The other semifinal game also is a rematch of a game played last Saturday as second-seeded Ithaca (12-4) hosts third-seeded Stevens 9-7 at 4 p.m. Ithaca won Saturday's meeting in Hoboken, N.J., 16-12.  If Fisher wins today, the Cardinals will travel to either Ithaca or Stevens on Saturday for the
Empire 8 Championship game, which carries an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship.
