The St. John Fisher College baseball team suffered a 3-1 defeat on Tuesday to host Oswego State in non-conference action.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 10-15 on the year while Oswego, who is currently receiving votes in the d3baseball.com poll, improves to 19-6.
The Lakers received a solid outing from freshman pitcher Robert Donnelly who pitched a complete game, surrendering five hits and allowing one run.
Oswego got on the board in the first inning and then padded its lead to 3-0 after picking up two runs in the sixth.
Fisher added its only run of the game in the seventh inning.Â
Shane Barley and
Scott Eisenmenger began the inning with a pair of singles. With runners on the corners,
Matthew Cahill hit a sacrifice fly to score Barley.
Cahill,
Jack Vivinetto and
Tyler Troccia each mustered a hit on the day.
Dominick Pisciotto pitched seven innings, allowing three runs on five hits.Â
Kevin Berge came in relief for the eighth inning inducing three straight ground outs.
Fisher is back in action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday when it will host the College at Brockport at Dugan Yard.
