The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse program suffered an 18-4 loss on Wednesday at Rochester Institute of Technology, currently ranked second in the latest national coaches poll.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 3-2, while the Tigers improve to 5-0.
Fisher trailed 3-0, but got on the board as sophomore
Matt Colicchia scored midway through the first quarter.
The Cardinals would trail 5-1 after one, but made it a three-goal game early in the second quarter with
Matthew Condon scoring off a pass from
Nick Rossi.
The Tigers led 9-2 at the half.  Fisher stayed with RIT early on in the second half, as
Gary Bova scored back-to-back for the Cardinals, making it 11-4 with just over seven minutes left in the third.
Sophomore goalie
Tanner Swann made a career-high 16 saves.  Zackery Bussey led Fisher with four ground balls, while
Kevin O'Donnell was 7-for-12 at faceoffs.
Fisher returns to action 12 p.m. on Saturday and will host SUNY Oswego.
