The St. John Fisher College women's soccer team lost 3-1 to Buffalo State College on Thursday in non-conference action at Growney Stadium.
With the loss, Fisher falls to 5-11-1 on the season while Buffalo State improved to 14-3-1 following the victory.
The Cardinals struck 22 minutes into the first half as
Carly Finn ripped a shot from 20 yards out that found the back of the net, giving Fisher the 1-0 lead.
The Bengals would respond however in the 33
rd minute as they headed in a shot off of a corner to tie the game 1-1. Then, with just 18 seconds left in the half, Buffalo State tallied another goal and took a 2-1 lead into the half.
In the second half, the Bengals added another score in the 85
th minute and went on to win 3-1.
Melissa McGowan started in goal for Fisher and made five saves.
The Cardinals return to action at 2 p.m. on Saturday as they close out the regular season against Empire 8 opponent Houghton College on Senior Day from Growney Stadium.
