The St. John Fisher College field hockey defeated the College at Brockport 4-1 on Thursday in non-conference action at Growney Stadium.
With the win, the Cardinals picked up their 12
th win of the season, tying a school record for most wins in a season as they are now 12-5 on the season. The Golden Eagles fall to 2-15 with the loss.
Fisher got on the board first when
Elizabeth Cusack scored from in front of the net to put the Cardinals up 1-0 in the seventh minute. Then, just over two minutes later,
Lauren Fazio found the net to put Fisher up 2-0.
Emily Markarian added two scores to the Cardinals' lead in the 15
th and 24th minutes as Fisher took a 4-0 lead into intermission.
In the second half, Brockport got on the board in the 54th minute but was unable to score another as the Cardinals went on to win 4-1.
Leading the way for Fisher was Markarian who finished with two goals and an assist.
Nickole Morgan tallied an assist for the Cardinals in the contest.
Starting in net for Fisher was
Danielle Famolaro who went 35 minutes in the first half before
Ashley Maynard started the second half and played 35 minutes.
The Cardinals will wrap up their regular season schedule at 11 a.m. on Saturday when they host St. Lawrence University for Senior Day.
