The St. John Fisher College volleyball team went 1-1 on Friday in the opening day of the Brockport Invitational. The Cardinals (11-13) cruised to a 3-1 win over SUNY Potsdam in their opening match, but dropped a 3-0 decision later in the evening to the host Golden Eagles.
In the win over the Bears,
Amanda Miller was on fire, registering 12 kills on 22 attempts with no errors.
Anna Marcy tallied 11 kills and 10 digs.
Katie Mazierski (20),
Meghan Stonebarger (17),
Elise Kreuz (14) and
Madison Karwas (11) each reached double digits in the dig column. Stonebarger also led Fisher with 34 assists.
In the match against Brockport,
Megan Miller led her team with 10 kills.
Erica Pawlewicz was second on the team with six kills. Marcy tallied four kills, giving her exactly 500 for her two-year career.
Mazierski paced the Cardinals with 15 digs.
Fisher returns to action on Saturday for the second day of the tournament and will face Alfred University and Hilbert College.
