NYU Remains Perfect After Defeating Men's Soccer

BOX SCORE

The St. John Fisher College men's soccer team traveled to New York University on Saturday, falling 2-1 after the home squad tallied the game's first two goals.

With the loss Fisher falls to 1-5-1 on the year, while NYU remains undefeated at 5-0.

Following a scoreless first half, the Bobcats broke through just over five minutes after the break as Nicolas Notaro put back a shot that was initially stopped by Fisher goalkeeper Josh Klein.

In the 57th minute NYU found the back of the net on a breakaway to seize a 2-0 advantage.

Fisher kept pushing and finally got on the board as Mike Lynch played a cross in to Chris Ferrara who cashed in on a one on one shot for his second goal of the season.  The Cardinals however were unable to tally an equalizer in the final 21 minutes.

The Bobcats notched 17 shots in the game, compared to Fisher's six.

Klein stopped eight shots in net for Fisher.

The Cardinals return to action at 2 p.m on Saturday when they will host Elmira College to open up Empire 8 play.
